About this product
Vermiculite — a heat-treated natural clay mineral that absorbs up to 500 times its own weight in water and releases it back to the plant gradually. It is extremely light, sterile and weed-free — which is exactly what makes it a good addition to seed compost.
Vermiculite works for covering sowings and rooting cuttings, and for winter storage of vegetables and flower bulbs. It is neutral in reaction, so it suits plants that need a neutral growing medium. It is also approved for organic growing.

Advice from our agronomist
Mix with soil at 1:1. Such a mix improves the structure of the growing medium: the soil stays open and does not set hard from watering.
Cover sowings thinly. A layer of vermiculite lets light through, holds moisture at the seed and prevents a crust forming on the surface.
Store bulbs dry. For winter storage pack bulbs in vermiculite and keep them cool — surplus moisture goes into the mineral and rot does not start.
