Leaf lettuce "Amerikanischer Brauner", 1 g, AGRONOM
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Leaf lettuce “Amerikanischer Brauner” (Lactuca sativa) — a mid-early variety with crisp, wavy leaves. The foliage is green-brown with a bronze tinge, so it looks as good in the bed as it does in the salad bowl. The leaves regrow after cutting, giving several pickings from a single sowing.
The growing period is 50-60 days. Suited to both greenhouse and open-ground growing; sow little and often for a steady supply of fresh leaves throughout the summer. Use the leaves fresh in salads and sandwiches or as a garnish.
The pack contains 1 g of seed (about 700-1200 seeds per gram), made by AGRONOM.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in batches. Outdoors, lettuce can be sown from late April to mid-July, starting a new row every 2-3 weeks. Cover the seed thinly, with about 1 cm of soil.
Thin in good time. Once the seedlings have 2-3 true leaves, leave 15-20 cm between plants. In a crowded row the leaves stay small and are more prone to rot.
Cut and come again. Cut the leaves 2-3 cm above the base so the plant can regrow. Water regularly in hot, dry spells, otherwise the lettuce bolts quickly and turns bitter.
