About this product
Lettuce “Red Salad Bowl” (Lactuca sativa) is a red loose-leaf lettuce of the oak-leaf type: the leaves are deeply lobed like an oak leaf, bronze-red and soft. The plant grows into a large open rosette and does not form a head.
Oak-leaf lettuces are known for being slow to bolt and for not turning bitter in summer as quickly as other leaf lettuces. You can pick the outer leaves all summer long, and the tender, slightly nutty leaves are ideal for salad mixes.
The pack contains 1 g. Made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Pick the outer leaves. Cut the outer leaves of the rosette and leave the heart — the plant regrows and crops for weeks.
Sow in succession. A new short row every 3 weeks keeps the leaves young and tender all summer.
Keep the soil moist. Drought makes leaves coarse and bitter; in hot weather lettuce prefers part shade.
