Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow directly in the bed from April to August at two-week intervals; lay the tape in a moist furrow 0.5–1 cm deep and cover lightly with soil. No thinning needed.
Sowing. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot; rows 20–25 cm apart. In summer sow in part shade so the leaves do not turn bitter or bolt.
Care. Water regularly, preferably in the morning; keep the soil moist but not wet. Protect against pests (slugs, flea beetles).
Feeding and harvest. Feeding is usually unnecessary. Cut the young leaves 35–50 days after sowing, 3–5 cm above the soil – the plants regrow and give another crop.
